Laura Richardson Joins US House of Representatives - September 4, 2007 - Laura Richardson was elected to fill the seat in the US House of Representative formerly occupied by California Rep. Juanita Millender-McDonald who passed away suddenly earlier this year.  Laura Richardson had been an assemblywoman on the Long Beach City Council since 2000.
